Description
The program focuses on creating initiatives to encourage free reading, and develop students’ reading skills by creating a list and samples of selected books, publications, and computer educational materials appropriate for students ’ages, and making them accessible to beneficiaries.
Because of the importance of defining the fields of reading in the various academic stages, several studies have been conducted, whether to determine the areas of free reading, or to identify students’ reading tendencies and needs, especially in our current era, which is characterized by a rapid flow of knowledge and information in a large way; And its authentic principles, so that they do not fall into a trap of reading paper or digital texts whose source is not known.
Hence the idea of this study came in determining the reading tendencies of students (grades 1: 6) in the member states of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States, and a list of reading materials (paper and electronic) appropriate for them. Then, two main lists were built: one is a list of reading paper materials, and the other is a list of electronic materials, and these lists have been classified according to the tendencies of students at every age.
