The Educational Center for the Arabic Language for the Gulf States in Sharjah – one of the organs of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States – participated in the reading forum of the Ministry of Education, within the activities of the month of reading during the month of March 2019, through the implementation of three training workshops on “reading skill strategies for grades (1: 6) And that targeted the teachers of grades (1: 6), and the three training workshops were held at the Teachers Institute in Ajman, Abu Dhabi Education Zone, and Ras Al Khaimah Educational Zone. This participation comes within a group of posts of the center in the Ministry’s activities for teacher training, in cooperation with the Teacher Training Institute.
The importance of this training workshop comes from the fact that the strategies are one of the components of any educational curriculum, as they represent the procedures and plans through which the knowledge, skills and values contained in the curriculum content can be communicated to learners. What confirms the importance of these strategies is that it is possible to formulate the content of the curriculum in a distinct form from a scientific and technical point of view, but the person responsible for transferring this content to the learners does not use the strategies that suit this content and correspond with the learners, their number, the time allocated to the lesson, and the organization of the classroom environment, which results in the lack of Learners are empowered with this content.
This training package aims to provide practical applications about reading skill teaching strategies that can be used with students (1: 6). The bag, including the trainer and trainer bag, has been prepared to form a general vision of its objectives, content, activities, and topics of its topics, the nature of relationships between its components, and mental processing of information, which helps to form a comprehensive idea about the contents of this bag, the methodology of its construction, and the theoretical and practical value of it.
